MakoVideo

Built for dev content creators

The explainer video factory, one recipe.

Produce full tech-explainer series under your brand: React + Remotion scenes, JSON scripts and timeline, per-scene TTS narration, SFX and diagrams — all driven by a single CLI.

  • Remotion + React 19
  • Zero API dependencies to get started
  • 320 CC0 SFX included

Real product render: features scene with voice-over — 1920x1080 · 30 fps

Three scenes, one engine

Real MakoVideo renders: branded intro, voiced features scene and recap outro. All of it comes from the same data project.

Branded intro

Brand mark, episode title and progress-bar chrome.

Features scene

Chips and terminal with real Spanish voice-over.

Recap outro

Episode closing with a key-points recap.

A complete engine for your series

Brand, audio, diagrams and pipeline already handled: one shared engine for the whole series.

  • Remotion + React engine

Pure React compositions: one engine for the whole series, with brand mark, intro, outro and progress-bar chrome.

  • Videos are data

Each episode lives in projects/<id>/ with config.json, script.json and a declarative timeline.json in frames (30 fps). Audio auto-fits every scene (atempo).

  • Per-scene TTS narration

Fish Audio (voice cloning via referenceId) or local, offline Kokoro-82M. Spanish phonetic normalization: SQL → “ese cuele”.

  • 320 CC0 SFX included

48 kHz / 24-bit sound kit with typed aliases (whoosh, pop, riser…) and per-voice volume.

  • Mermaid diagrams + kit

Mermaid .mmd → SVG out of the box, plus an MIT diagram-kit vendored in the repo (Canvas, Arrow, Cylinder…).

  • 13-script CLI pipeline

    env:check → diagrams → speech → render → compress → gif → thumbnail → normalize (EBU R128) → video:info.

From zero to MP4 in three steps

No extra setup: duplicate a project, write your scenes and render.

  1. Duplicate the project folder

In projects/<id>/ you manage config.json, script.json and timeline.json: declarative frame durations and audio ids matching scenes 1:1.

  2. Write your scenes in React

Build new scenes on top of the shared kit: chrome, brand mark, diagrams and SFX are already wired into Remotion.

  3. Run one command

pnpm render:project mi-video produces the 1080p30 MP4 with normalized audio, ready in out/.

bash — mi-video

pnpm speech:kokoro mi-video

# 14 clips · ids 1:1 with scenes · auto atempo

pnpm render:project mi-video

out/mi-video.mp4 · 1920x1080 · 30 fps · h264

Frequently asked questions

What people usually ask before buying the template.

Do I need API keys to get started?

No. A fresh clone renders the sample episode with no keys and no downloaded models: silent-audio placeholders are committed. TTS narration with Fish Audio or Kokoro is optional and can be added whenever you want.

What format does it produce?

MP4 1920x1080 at 30 fps (h264 + aac), with compression presets for Discord, web and social, plus GIF preview and thumbnail generation.

Does it work on my system?

Remotion + Node 22 + pnpm. You render headless with swiftshader (Chrome headless shell): no display or visible browser needed.

Can I use it for a full series?

Yes. The series kit shares the brand mark, intro, outro and progress-bar chrome across episodes: each video is a data project within the same series.
